Responsible for completing daily tasks set by the Leadman. The role includes laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal components to assemble structural forms. This requires knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for tack-welding or welding components and assemblies using different methods, as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions.
- Performs all necessary maintenance and repairs on all equipment used in welding.
- Ensures the safe and effective operation and maintenance of assigned tools, plant, and equipment associated with the job, using the required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Performs or assists with other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least a high school graduate, preferably with NCII, SMAW, and/or GMAW certification.
- Must have experience working with copper, black iron, galvanized iron, and other metal works.
- Must be able to perform welding work and related physical/manual labor tasks safely.
- Must be able to operate, maintain, and work safely with hand tools, small plant, and equipment.
