Job Responsibilities
You’ll assist with the preparation of all facility meals.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and cook the required amount of food based on the menu and production sheet.
- Keep kitchen equipment in good working condition. Keep the work area safe, clean, and sanitary.
- Count and control knives and other controlled kitchen tools at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Prepare food for special facility functions and special diets when prescribed by the staff doctor.
- Help clean kitchen work areas after each meal.
- Coordinate the work of inmates assigned to assist in the cafeteria, including long periods of sitting and standing.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of food service or related experience required.
- Must have a valid food handler’s permit in New Mexico or Texas.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
