Job Summary
As a Gardener at Humphreys Landscaping Ltd, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing premium residential gardens across Auckland. You will use a range of power tools and horticultural techniques to ensure gardens remain healthy, attractive, and well-presented. The role requires strong plant knowledge, physical fitness, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills when working with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general garden maintenance duties
- Operate power tools including hedge trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers
- Prune and groom a variety of plant materials
- Manage soil health and garden appearance
- Apply fertilisers, both organic and non-organic
- Identify and manage pests and diseases
- Maintain high standards across all assigned gardens
- Work collaboratively with team members
- Communicate professionally with clients on-site
Requirements
- Horticulture qualification preferred
- Proven experience in garden maintenance
- Strong plant knowledge
- Physically fit and capable of outdoor work
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence required
- Ability to drive manual vehicles
- Must be a New Zealand citizen, resident, or legally eligible to work in New Zealand
