We are looking for a Civil Pipelayer to join our construction team in the Campbell River area. In this role, you will install underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage. You will work closely with the excavation crew to complete construction projects safely, efficiently, and according to engineering plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the work area for pipe installation by checking the required slope and elevation.
- Excavate trenches using construction equipment or manual tools when needed.
- Grade and level trench bases with tamping machines or hand tools.
- Follow blueprints to dig trenches at the correct depth and alignment.
- Position and install pipes accurately according to construction drawings.
- Connect pipe sections and seal joints to prevent leaks.
- Install barrels, drywells, and other drainage components when required.
- Work with the excavation team to maintain safety and quality standards on site.
- Support construction projects by performing general labour tasks when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in underground servicing such as water, sewer, or storm systems.
- Experience in pipe-laying or civil construction is an asset.
- Ability to operate construction equipment safely and responsibly.
- Ability to read and follow construction blueprints.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
